Union membership counts !!!

Labor union membership counts beyond the movement itself, and has, historically, made a difference: Organized labor, after all, secured wages and benefits (e.g. safe working conditions; health benefits) that had a wider impact. In their limited numbers now, however, that effect is waning. Without a strong, sustained union movement, the drive for improved wages and working conditions is weaker.
